Kindergarten students at Bedford Hills Elementary School have been earning money all year and in June presented their donations to the Lynchburg Humane Society.
Students put plastic teddy bears into a jar for great behavior and achievements. Each time the jar filled up, they got a visit from Buddy, their teacher’s dog. During each visit, the children got to put $5.00 into their bank.
The donation has been made to the humane society in memory of Dr. William F. Quillian, Jr., who was a past president of Randolph Macon Woman’s College. Laura Murphy, the Assistant Director of Development for the LHS visited the class in June and was presented with the final donation of $40.
