Does your child attend private school or homeschool? Enrich their educational experience by enrolling part-time at Lynchburg City Schools (LCS). With part-time enrollment, you can tailor your child’s education to your family’s needs while taking advantage of our rich high school course offerings and extracurricular activities.

Here are just a few of the opportunities available through part-time enrollment at LCS:

Courses for High School Credit
  • More than thirty AP course options
  • Career and Technical Education courses, including computer science, machining, nursing, cosmetology, carpentry, marketing, and more
  • Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC)
  • World language classes, including Spanish, French, and German
Non-VHSL Extracurricular Activities
  • Theatre
  • Marching band
  • National Honor Society and other community service organizations
  • Yearbook, art, and world language clubs

Part-time enrollment is available to high school or eighth grade students interested in taking classes for high school credit. Students enrolled part-time at LCS are not eligible to participate in Virginia High School League (VHSL) sports or activities. Part-time enrollment is available to Lynchburg city residents only.
