GIRLS ON THE RUN (GOTR)
Hello to parents of our third-fifth grade girls! Bedford Hills has a special opportunity for your child called Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is a non-profit program that works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a celebratory 5K run in November.
We will meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:15 p.m., at Bedford Hills. Students will need to be picked up in the front of the school at 5:15 p.m. The coaches for this program are two of our 3rd grade teachers Ms. Wayne and Mrs. Tkacik, and a parent volunteer, Mrs. Myers.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box Tops for Education has gone digital! Download the free app to your phone and scan your store receipts. Any Box Tops you earn will be credited immediately to Bedford Hills. As always, each collected Box Top becomes cash for our school. And be sure to keep collecting those original Box Tops- though they are being phased out, they will be accepted as long as the expiration date hasn’t passed. We will have a collection drive this fall, so round up as many as you can and watch for more information on collection dates.
VIOLIN
If your child played violin last year, you should have received a lesson schedule for this year. Please help your child remember to bring the violin on the correct days until it becomes a habit. Please correct the 49th Annual Suzuki Festival date to March 26, 2020.
All students should be reviewing, one song at a time, the songs they know on the Get Downtown! list. We perform there on September 6 at 8:00 p.m.
Please encourage daily practice. A practice calendar will be sent home in the violin case for September. Please look over the calendar and place concerts or listening opportunities that are listed on your calendar. I am looking forward to an amazing year!

The Bedford Hills Carnival, Silent Auction, and Raffle will take place on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m.–2:30p.m.
