PTO MEETING – JAN 6th!
The next PTO meeting will take place on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the library. All BHS families are invited to attend, and free childcare for school aged children is provided in the cafeteria.
SCHOOL CULTURE AND CLIMATE SURVEY
The Lynchburg City Schools School Culture and Climate Survey is now available at www.lcsedu.net/survey. The deadline to complete the survey is December 18, 2019. The purpose of the survey is to gather information that will help us in continuing the tradition of excellence for all in our schools. We strive to be an inclusive community in which people from different cultural, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds learn, live, and work harmoniously, without compromising their beliefs or identities. Information gathered from the survey will be used to continue to improve our school culture while guiding every child, by need and by name, to graduation.
GIVENS/LITTLE DICKENS
As you begin your holiday shopping, don’t forget to shop local, and be sure to ask for any purchases you make at Givens/Little Dickens to be applied towards Bedford Hills. They will give back a percentage of purchases at the end of the year to our library!
VIOLIN
Violin parents are needed to help supervise each grade level after children are tuned Thursday evening and to help bring them to the cafeteria at concert time. You will be given instructions. If you can assist, please let Mrs. Paris know. ([email protected])
Thursday, December 19 all violin students will perform for their families at 7:00 p.m. Tuning will be from 6:20-6:55 p.m. The concert will start with all beginners on the stage, then they will sit with their parents and listen to the other students play. Please remain in the cafeteria for the entire violin program. Mrs. Paris wants to quickly check tuning after the concert since there are no lessons on Friday, December 20. Only advanced students or those who played for LSYO will play for the Sing-a-long.
Please have your child try to play the violin some each day during Winter Break. Concerts for family and friends are always fun. Newly acquired skills by beginners are quickly lost if they do not play on a regular basis. Make up holiday rhythms to play or even have them make up their own song using the notes they have learned so far.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday and a music filled 2020!
-Ginger Paris
