Dear LCS families,
We are more than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally, we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. On May 14, Governor Northam issued Executive Orders that will begin to ease some of the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. As a result, some of our internal practices will begin to change. While we can look forward to changes, we still must maintain our current health and safety procedures in our buildings and on our buses throughout the rest of the school year.
Here are more details about how the Executive Orders will affect LCS mask and social distancing procedures for fully vaccinated individuals:
Executive Order 72 Effective May 15
- Masks must still be worn by all staff and students indoors on school property for the remainder of the school year.
- Masks must still be worn by all staff and students on the school bus for the remainder of the school year.
- Outdoor activities do not require masks for vaccinated people but we still need to practice social distancing
Executive Order 79 Effective May 28
- Masks must still be worn by staff, students, and visitors at indoor school activities. Social distancing is preferred, but there is no seating capacity for gathering limits.
- Masks must still be worn by all staff and students indoors during summer school, and social distancing is still preferred.
- Masks must still be worn by staff and students on school buses, and social distancing is still preferred.
- At outdoor graduations, social distancing is preferred. There is no seating capacity or gathering limits, and no masks are needed for vaccinated people.
More information will be coming about the Executive Orders.
