Rising seventh and 12th graders must obtain required immunizations before the first day of school in order to attend Lynchburg City Schools. Make appointments now with your child's healthcare provider or the Health Department to get your child the immunizations they need.

Required immunizations for entry into seventh grade include a Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (Tdap) Booster; Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) Vaccine; and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine*. The final dose of the MenACWY Vaccine should be administered prior to entering 12th grade.

See the School Minimum Immunization Requirements page on the Virginia Department of Health website for details.

*As a parent or guardian, you have the unique right to decide if your child gets the HPV vaccine. After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parent's or guardian's sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
