Dear LCS Families,
We had a great staff work day today developing our plan to provide enrichment activities and school nutrition services during our school closure.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
Later this week, we will be getting electronic and paper resources into the hands of students. Secondary students will be able to use google classroom and other online resources that we will be sharing soon. Elementary students will be receiving paper packets by grade level. Any secondary student without internet access will also have the opportunity to receive paper packets based on area of study. Once packets are available, we will provide more information on how to get them to students.
COMMAND AND DISTRIBUTION SITES
During this school closure, LCS will have four command sites, which are the same sites as the food distribution sites. These four sites are:
- Heritage High School
- E. C. Glass High School
- Dunbar Middle School
- Linkhorne Middle School
These sites will be staffed by essential pandemic personnel. All other school buildings will be closed and no one will be allowed to reenter until school opens again. The administration building will be staffed but closed to the public.
MEAL DELIVERY
Breakfast and lunch will continue to be available to all children up to age 18. We will continue to deliver meals to bus stops between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students can also pick up the meals curbside at the distribution sites between 11:00 a.m. and noon. The child must be present to receive the meal. USDA guidelines do not allow LCS to put the meals in the hands of parents or other adults to bring back to their children.
